Flora Corona
Flora Corona is a crescent-shaped shawl knit from the top down. Its three lace sections are inspired by summertime celebrations of love. The delicate flowers of the border and beading throughout give it an extra touch of elegance, perfect to wear for your next special occasion.
This pattern is completely charted--there are no written instructions for the lace. All patterning is on right side rows, with the exception of beads, which are added on wrong side rows.
Finished measurements of the sample size:
Depth: 15 inches
Length along inner curved edge: 62 inches
The size of this shawl is completely adaptable by repeating each chart more or fewer times.
Yarn:
The samples were knit in heavy lace to laceweight yarn, but this would work in any fingering to laceweight yarn, as long as you use needles that give you a fabric you like. You will need about 450-500 yards to knit the shawl as written (i.e. the sample size). My sample used 437 yards, but some test knitters used more.
Beads:
As always, beading is optional. If you would like to bead this shawl, you will need about 610 8/0 beads and a tool to apply them, e.g. a tiny crochet hook or floss threader.
Stitch patterns are charted only. Construction instructions are written.
This pattern has been test knitted.
