The embroidered gloves have an eyelet cuff and are knit flat, then seamed, as is the hat. Jacket details include a peplum gathered onto a high waist, balanced by very full sleeves.

There are instructions for the hat and gloves included with this pattern.

Inspired by the dashing uniforms of the Cossack cavalry, the coat, gloves & hat are knitted mainly in cotton, with gold lurex and silk yarn adding extra richness. Floral motifs twining across a soft blue background are derived from the sumptuous embroidered brocades worn at the Imperial Russian Court.

The originals are knitted in DK cotton denim yarn as the main colour and there are exciting touches of gold lurex which highlight the front fastenings
It is an elegant and very wearable garment, quite challenging to knit - but well worth the effort!
