Florentine Frieze
The only new skill required to create the charming Florentine Frieze is lifting and catching stitches to form garland like swoops, resulting in an almost architectural effect. Place a few repeats of this delightful pattern at the bottom of each side of a little scarf, pull in tabs above the pattern stitch, add a special button and you have a charming ascot.
The fabric is nice and thick due to the doubling up of the 2 colors so it lies well as the tails of this little neckwarmer. Be sure to have a fairly strong contrast of color or light and dark to highlight the design.
