A warm-weather tee with a little lace, a little whimsy, and a lot of heart. Flower Child brings together fingering-weight yarn, texture, and vintage-inspired details in a relaxed, easy-to-wear silhouette.

With a lace yoke that blossoms as you go, a sweet picot collar, and bobbles like little flower buds, Flower Child brings a touch of vintage charm to your needles. Worked seamlessly in the round from the top down in fingering-weight yarn, it’s the kind of project you ease into and don’t want to put down.

Design Details

The circular lace yoke features leafy eyelets dotted with bobble buds, framed by a delicate picot collar. The yoke transitions into a simple stockinette body, letting the texture stay the focus. The proportions create a light, wearable tee that pairs easily with high waisted denim, skirts, or layered pieces.

Both written and charted instructions are included for the lace.

Pattern Highlights

• Picot collar and bobble details
• Circular lace yoke that grows visibly as you knit
• Adjustable body and sleeve length
• Works beautifully in sock yarn or singles

Construction Overview

Flower Child is knit seamlessly from the top down with a circular yoke. A picot cast on forms the collar. After completing the lace yoke, stitches are divided for sleeves and the body is worked in the round in stockinette, finished with 1x1 ribbing and a sewn bind off. Sleeves are picked up and worked in the round with matching ribbing.

Top down construction allows easy adjustment to both body and sleeve length.

Yarn Notes

Our samples were knit in Black Elephant Sock and Black Elephant Singles. Both brought out something different in the lace. Sock yarn gives crisp stitch definition, while singles soften the fabric and create a slightly hazier texture.

Singles, sock, gently speckled, or solid all work well here. Choose a yarn that highlights the lace and let the yoke do the talking.
