Flower Garden Slippers
Sometimes we need a little instant gratification. In the doldrums of late winter, when the first flats of garden pansies and marigolds appear in front of the grocery store, I always feel a little surge of delight.
These are flowers I don’t have to plant from seeds, or protect through the winter. They appear like magic, with no effort on my part. I can never resist bringing a few home. Flower Garden slippers are just like those first annual blooms. Worked in gigantic plush wool, these darlings will be finished before you can say “begonias.”
Make some to give away, some to keep for yourself. You can have them right now.
Note: Slippers are worked at a firmer gauge than that suggested by the yarn manufacturer.
Construction: Slippers are worked from heel to toe.
Finished size: 8 (8¾, 9¼)“ (20.5 22, 23.5 cm) foot circumference, 8½ (9½, 10)” (21.5 24, 25.5 cm) foot length
