> Flower Stripe Shawl
Flower Stripe Shawl
The Flower Stripe Shawl is worked from one point to the opposite side increasing along one edge and decreasing along the other. It features stripes that end in a flower along the decrease edge. Finally, the shawl is finished with a flower border.
Choose one main color and an accent color for the flower stripes or use up yarn scraps with a different color for each flower stripe, each main color section, or both. The shawl pattern works with any weight yarn, from thread to bulky, and can be made any size.
Level: Easy
The pattern uses cluster stitches and one decrease stitch, but there is a detailed picture tutorial, for those beginners looking for a challenge.
Size: Adjustable
The size will depend on yarn used and can be changed by working more pattern repeats. Three suggested sizes with DK weight yarn:
- Small (9 stripes and border): 48”/122 cm wide by 15”/38 cm deep, 470 yards main color and 110 yards accent color
- Medium (12 stripes and border): 63”/160 cm wide by 19.5”/49.5 cm deep, 805 yards main color and 165 yards accent color
- Large (15 stripes and border): 78”/198 cm wide by 24”/61 cm deep, 1235 yards main color and 230 yards accent color
