Fluid dynamics is the study of fluids and how forces affect them. This branch of applied science is concerned with the movement of liquids and gases and provides methods for studying the evolution of stars, ocean currents, weather patterns, plate tectonics and even blood circulation.

This infinity scarf features a pattern of flowing brioche lines over a garter background.
If you know how to knit brioche, this is a fun and easy project (this can be a first brioche project), because all the increases and decreases needed for “moving” the brioche lines are made in the garter sections of the scarf.
The brioche lines are “syncopated” meaning that in the first one MC shows its knit side, while in the second line it shows its purl side. Obviously, when you turn the scarf inside out the look is perfectly mirrored.
You can easily obtain an elegant stole working 3 or 4 repeats instead of just two and working a longer piece.
The result is hypnotic, fluid, and perfectly reversible.

This scarf is worked using two different “Wave pattern”, one shorter and one longer, to add movement and interest to the knitting and the end result.
The following instructions explain how to work the sample scarf in the pictures, but it is possible to personalize your own scarf changing the order or the number of repeats of each pattern.
The two ends of the scarf have a “doubled” border that not only refines the scarf, but it can also be used as a drawstring to close it in a sort of infinity scarf, using an i-cord.

Finished size: 10” / 25 cm width and 64” / 160 cm length.
Size is easily customizable, either using different yarn weight and needle size or working more or fewer repeats.
