Folk Knit Shawl
The Folk Knit shawl begins with a few stitches and is knit on the bias into an asymmetrical triangle.
The design features a wide border of garter stitch on two sides and a body worked in mosaic stitches.
The garter border and the mosaic stitches are worked at the same time. The colorwork is fun and easy to work, with only one color used per row.
This pattern is charted only.
The size is easily adjustable to the yardage available and the size desired.
Yardage used for samples shown:
The larger sample, with black border, used approximately 600 m / 650 yd MC (black) and 300 m / 325 yds CC and measures 66 inch / 168 cm in width and 25 inch / 64 cm deep, after blocking.
The smaller sample, with cream border, used approximately 300 m / 325 yds for MC (cream) and 180 m / 195 yds for the CC and measures 56 inch / 142 cm wide and 20 inch / 51 cm deep, after blocking.
Select two colorways with really good contrast to highlight the colorwork.
