For Jennie, With Love
For Jennie, With Love is a versatile sweater that is suitable for a variety of occasions. Its bracelet length sleeves make it a perfect choice for the office or a night on the town.
Worked seamlessly in the round from the bottom up, this drop shoulder sweater features a split hem, a “seam” stitch at each side, and a boat neck. German short rows are used to shape the shoulders and the front neck for a more refined fit. The front and back yokes are worked flat and joined at the shoulder seams with a modified 3-needle bind-off. Stitches are picked up around the armhole openings and the fitted sleeves are worked in stockinette stitch to the cuffs. The long cuff length adds extra elegance to the overall look. When viewed from the right angle, the stitch pattern used for the body makes little hearts.

YARN
Smiling Sheep Smitten 75% Superwash Merino, 25% Nylon; 437 yards/400m per 100g skein; 4 (4, 5, 6, 6) (7, 7, 8, 8) skeins
Yarn characteristics and Substitution
The yarn used in the sample is a fingering weight 4-ply wool/nylon blend which provides a stable fabric with good stitch definition. When substituting yarn, choose a plied yarn with a fibre content to achieve the desired results. Fibres such as linen and alpaca may stretch out and distort the stitch pattern and fit. Do not use a single-ply yarn as it will result in extreme biasing with this stitch pattern.
