Dragons appear in so many stories, from all over the world, and they have always fascinated me. They are magical, can spit fire, can fly, and depending on the lore, they have many other fascinating abilities. So, I decided to create a few designs inspired by them.

Forest dragon features the same dragon-scale pattern as the other designs, with two different edgings. One side has cables, which look like twisted vines, the other has a leaf edging. Due to the nature of the leaf edging, the stitch count changes from row to row, and the pattern repeat travels over 20 rows.

I recommend the pattern for intermediate lace knitters or adventurous beginners.

Materials :
3.5 mm/US 4 needles

King Cole Bamboo Cotton 4ply, or fingering weight yarn of choice
loop: 370 m/405 yds
scarf: 740 m/810 yds

Optional: 2 stitch markers to separate the borders from the dragon-scale pattern
4 stitch markers to mark pattern repeats of the dragon-scale pattern

Gauge:
22 sts and 38 rows = 10 cm/4” in garter stitch
Gauge is not crucial here, but it might affect the size of your finished scarf and how much yarn you need.

Scarf: 185 cm/72” long, 28 cm/11” wide
