Fort Collins
Fort Collins 🌲 ⛰️Shawl is 50% off until midnight Sunday, August 7th 2022. No code needed, just drop it in your cart and check out!!!
A shawl inspired by one of my favorite cities to visit, Fort Collins 🌲 ⛰️ Colorado, home to some very special people! This crescent-shaped shawl is filled with an engaging blend of stitches and techniques to keep you entertained. Textured stitches and a mosaic knitting pattern decorate the shawl and then finish with an eye-catching lace edging. Each section is simple and quick, so you are always looking forward to seeing what comes next. Grab your yarn and needles and join me on a trip to Fort Collins!
NOTE: Mountain Ave Section- double yarn overs count as 1 stitch in total row stitch count
Yarn: You will need 3 complementary Colors, I suggest color one can be lightly speckled and colors two and three be semi-solid colorways
I used: (yardage is padded by 25 yards from my usage)
Yarn: Emma’s Yarn Super Silky (80% Superwash Merino/20% silk, 400yards/100grams)
Color One (C1): Shake 320 yards (white/green speckles)
Color Two (C2): Be Hoppy 370 Yards (lighter green)
Color Three (C3): Take a Hike 250 Yards (darker green edging)
You can get this exact kit or shop for other colors right here at Four Purls
Needles: US 4/3.5mm, & 5/3.75mm 32” circular needles & one US 7/4.5mm for bind off
Notions: Stitch Marker, T-pins and blocking wires for blocking
Gauge: 18 stitches = 4 inches in garter after aggressive blocking. Although gauge is not crucial for this project, it will affect the finished size and yarn requirements. A looser gauge will result in the use of more yarn.
Finished Size: 18” deep x 88” neckline” tip to tip after blocking. Finished dimensions will vary due to blocking and fiber content; the silk in the sample resulted in a very drapey shawl.
Thank you to my brilliant Test Knitters who made this pattern possible!!!
