This beanie/skull cap design is inspired by the Fortify motif pattern in Andrea Rangel’s Alterknit Stitch Dictionary. Due to copyright restrictions and in fairness to Andrea, the author of the Alterknit Stitch Dictionary, you will need a copy of the motif pattern from the book, which is available in bookstores and libraries. The Fortify motif pattern is found on page 24 of the book.

The pattern calls for two skeins of Cascade 220 worsted yarn. The cap requires enough yarn in two colors to create a cap that is approximately 55g (1.9oz) with stranded knitting.
