Fougère is a top-down sweater with a modern, relaxed silhouette. Construction begins at the back panel, where the shoulder slopes are shaped using charted German Short Rows before continuing straight down to the underarms.

The left and right fronts are worked separately, then joined by casting on stitches between them, flowing seamlessly to the underarms.

At the underarms, the front and back are joined to form the body, which is worked in the round straight to the hem and finished with twisted ribbing. Stitches are then picked up around the armholes for the sleeves, which can be shaped at the cap or worked straight down, and are completed in the round with matching twisted ribbing.
