With the kelp-like lace inset and shark-tooth edging, these socks show off their beach inspiration in style. They are knit from the toe up with a shaped toe and gusseted short row heel, which lets you try them on as often as you like. The summer fun continues with a short (ankle-length) leg and the folded over edging. These are the socks I’d wear with super-cute shoes after a morning of beachcombing!

Yarn Anzula Luster (50% silk, 50% superwash merino; 405 yd 370 m/4 oz 114 g): herb, 1 skein.
Needles Size 1 (2.25 mm): double pointed (dpn), two circulars (cir), or one long cir for Magic Loop. Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Notions Stitch markers (m); tapestry needle.
Gauge 14 sts and 25 rnds = 2” (5cm) in St st in the rnd.

• Each sock is different to accommodate toe shaping, lace inset placement, and edging direction.

• Increasing for the toe is worked over two rnds. The first rnd has yarnovers that are closed by knitting tbls on the second rnd. This is similar to the M1 increase but a little looser and easier to work.

• For the cast-on, use whatever method you prefer for toe-up socks. The sample uses the figure-8 method.
