This shawl is knit in the round with a steek, which is eventually cut to allow the piece to lie flat. Links to demonstrations of steeking are included with the pattern.

The design incorporates several traditional Fair Isle motifs and is worked in four colors. The yarn recommended to craft this accessory is Cascade Yarns 220 Fingering: it features the perfect combination of being soft next to the skin and having sufficient ‘stickiness’ for the strands to stay in place, which is an important consideration in cutting the steek.

Yarn requirements:
Cascade Yarns CASCADE 220 Fingering Yarn, 100% Peruvian Highland Wool; 50g (1.75oz), 273yds (250m): 2 skeins of 8011 Aspen Heather (Color A), 2 skeins of 1080 Coastal Fjord (Color B), 1 skein of 9683 Flax (Color C), and 1 skein of 2414 Ginger (Color D)
