I particularly enjoy working Fair Isle patterns in two colors and at times appreciate the effect created with colors of low contrast. This throw highlights one of my favorite simple patterns in color combinations that reflect the seasons of the year – to me.

The pattern is aimed at the experienced knitter, who is comfortable knitting Fair Isle flat – or willing to do so! The knitter should also be able to finish seams using a mattress stitch, know how to apply duplicate stitch patterns and be capable of working a single crochet edging.

Overall the project does take time but is a satisfying knit and the end product is certainly worth displaying and eventually passing on to others.

Yarn requirements:
Eden Cottage Yarns KELD TWIST (83.3% superwash merino; 16.7% linen; 100g/375m/410yds): 7 skeins of Silver Birch (Background Color A); and 2 skeins each of Ash, Wild Raspberry, Ivy, and Red Goosefoot (Design Colors B)

I am most grateful to Victoria and Laura at Eden Cottage Yarns for their generous yarn support for this project.
