Since the first time I worked a knit pleat, I wanted to include pleats in a design. Like turning a sock heel, working pleats seems to take just a bit of magic--which is kicked up a notch when you hide a bit of lace behind them.
This capelet is worked in the round from the bottom up, with a simple honeycomb lace pattern hiding behind front pleats and repeated at the back. Basic stockinette and garter stitch let the pleats take center stage in a cozy accessory that will stay put around your shoulders when fall’s chill arrives.
