Fox Paws
Fox paws is a rectangular wrap with a distinctive stripe motif that looks like little interlocking fox feet. Using only increases and decreases, stripes are shaped into extreme waves using the same technique as the Petal Cowl pattern but with more unusual shapes. It can be worked in 2 or more colors without any stranded or intarsia techniques, There are no strange loops on the wrong side and the wrap is very stretchy and drapey.
The sample shown and described in the pattern is worked in 5 colors which rotate every repeat to create a varied appearance but you can use almost any stripe pattern that you desire. a downloadable coloring page can be found in the pattern photos. I’ve also created a video showing how to weave in the yarn ends from all the stripes as you go, making the finishing almost nonexistent.
an updated format of this pattern has been available since 2015 labeled as FOXPAWSnew in your library. This file uses more abbreviations and a table based layout to make everything a bit easier to read, keep track of, and count. It even allows for markers! You may prefer the original if it’s difficult to juggle multiple abbreviations in your head at once.

Thanks to Intensywnie Kreatywna (AKA IKzRoguRenifera), there’s a Polish translation of Fox Paws. She made a beautiful project while translating the pattern and has posted it and SO MANY OTHER PRETTY THINGS on her blog. If you have not yet seen the Intensywnie Kreatywna blog, it is worth visiting even if you do not read Polish.
Thanks to tannek for the Russian translation It looks very much like the new English version with the easy to read format.
There is a forum thread for Fox Paws for those who want to share.
