The design:
The Fractal Bloom Mandala is a colourful interlocking floral design inspired by fractal sand art.
Materials needed:
Fractal Bloom was designed using 8ply/DK/weight 3 yarn. Meterage used was 70m/76.5yds.
45/49.2yds of the main colour and 25m/27.3yds of contrast colour(s)
The mandala measures 21cm/8.2” across. It could be made larger using 10ply/Aran/Worsted weight/weight 4 yarn or smaller using 4ply/fingering/weight 2 yarn (amount needed would vary)
Stitch markers
Wool/darning needle
Gauge: not required
Recommended hook size: 4mm/G hook
Or hook appropriate for your chosen yarn weight
Stitch abbreviations: (US Terms)
MC: Main colour
CC: Contrast colour (you can have as many contrast colours are you like)
pm: Place marker
dc: Double crochet
sc: Single crochet
tr: Treble crochet
bl: Work the stitch in the back loop only e.g blsc
ch: Chain
skp: Skip stitch
sl st: Slip stitch
ch-sp: Chain space
v st: dc1, ch1, dc1 in the same stitch
fpXdc2: Front post crossed double crochet
