You can use any T-shirt yarn 7-9 mm wide and 7 mm hook (or crochet hook that is convenient for you when using such kind of yarn).

Approximate yarn consumption: one standard skein of 300 g / 100 m or slightly more. Experience with yarn from different manufacturers has shown different results, and even with the same yarn, sometimes a skein was enough, sometimes not. So I recommend playing it safe, having either the leftovers of the desired color in stock, or buying two skeins at once.
