Frankenfeet is a marvelous way to use up leftover sock yarn from all your other sock projects! The simple stitch allows any sock yarn to shine right through as it consists of simple eyelets and a ripple effect between the color changes, making the yarn the star of the show. ⭐

This pattern features Hypnotic Yarn’s 2021 advent calendar. To prevent spoiling any surprises, photos will remain in black & white for the pattern sample until after Christmas. Any color photos that are on the page are those of folks who didn’t use the advent.

Worked in the round, Frankenfeet contains both cuff-down and toe-up written directions and a chart for the pattern stitch. The pattern has instructions for an afterthought heel, but you may substitute whatever heel you enjoy using.

The pattern is written for the magic loop method for knitting socks; however, the design could be worked on double-pointed needles or mini-circulars instead should you prefer.

SUGGESTED NEEDLES
US1 (2.25 mm) 32-40” (82-102 cm) circular needles, or size required to obtain gauge.

300-500 yds / 274-458 m fingering weight yarn (depending on the length of your foot and leg) – made up of scraps/leftovers of 20 yds / 18 each.

GAUGE
9 stitches by 11 rounds in stockinette = 1” / 2.5 cm, after blocking. Gauge is crucial in obtaining the correct fit. Changes in gauge will result in a size difference for your finished socks.

A low-visibility and a screen-reader accessible version of this pattern are available for the pattern’s English version.
