Freddy the Cat
Summer season is almost over and we’re, little by little, getting back to our routines with new activities and new challenges. This is definitely my favourite season ever.
And since I love challenges almost more than I love a cat, I’ve decided to merge both and to launch Freddy the cat’s pattern, and challenge you to make it.
I’m madly in love with Freddy. I mean, come on, look at those eyes… and what about his socks? And the suspenders? He looks like a good boy and a naughty cat at the same time. Because Freddy is one cat, two cats and all the cats in the world.
Freddy’s pattern is quite easy, good for beginners as well as advanced crocheters. It’s mostly worked in single crochet stitch, increases and decreases, and in the pattern you’ll find any other special tip.
The pattern is a 9 pages PDF, with plenty of funny pictures of Freddy as well as step by step pictures.
Why a cat and why now? Well, Freddy like all my charactres, has its own story. He’s a cat who likes to visit us every day at the hostel where I use to work. He’s an orange and white cat with a lot of scars, because he’s lived a lot of adventures.
Freddy likes to walk around the neighborhood asking for his food and his love. He’s very talkative and he uses to come every night at the same time and meow until I say hi to him. Then he lies on the doormat and stays there.
Fact: it’s my first amigurumi of a cat! Seriously, you can’t miss Freddy in your collection of De Estraperlo’s characters.
I like to think that Freddy, instead of being a stray cat, has so many houses that has to divide his time in order to satisfy all of us. That’s why I decided to pay him a tribute, him and all the cats, stray or not. Those who love cats, like I do, know how important they are. On top of that, this one has amazing socks.
As you can see, it’s quite big once finished, so you can hug him and sleep with him. Kids adore him, but belive me, you want to make one just for yourself.
You’ll find two versions, different colors and clothes, so you can get inspired and try to make your very own Freddy.
