You can never have too many good basic garments. I often feel warm (no hot flushes yet though…!) so for me a cardigan is the ultimate choice. Open or closed depending on the temperature for the day, and I am also a friend of practicality. I have several cardigans lying around, all finished. Well, knit wise anyway – none of them has got any buttons. In fact, I have realized that the ideal cardigan for me is one with a zipper. I also love color, but sometimes you need that basic garment that can be worn with all the pops of color in your closet. I therefore let myself burst out a little colorwise through the zipper and the pocket. Here is the perfect opportunity to make use of all the little scraps in your yarn collection. Let your creativity flow and play with structure, colorwork or why not a braid our two?
