This sock pattern is a simple sock with a bit of a lacy touch. This is a great pattern for someone who has knit a sock and wants to expand on their pattern skills. This is also a great pattern for using up leftover yarn and for mini skeins. The needles used on this pattern create a tight fabric so that the sock fits snug on the foot. If you feel more comfortable using larger needles, you may need to go down a sock size and adjust the length accordingly.

Pattern sizes:
This pattern is for women’s shoe sizes 5 - 5 ½ (6 - 6 ½, 7 – 7 ½, 8 – 8 ½, 9 – 9 ½); XS (S, M, L, XL)

Yarn needed:
Approximately 40 grams/158 yards (50 grams/197 yards; 60 grams/236 yards; 70 grams/275 yards; 80 grams/314 yards) of fingering weight yarn. The amount of yarn you use depends on your gauge.

Recommended yarn:
Yarn Café Creations Bonbon Sock 2-ply (85% Superwash Merino Wool / 15% nylon) fingering weight sock yarn (393 yards/100 grams). Colorway shown in picture: Billywig by Yarn Café Creations.

Needles used:
Four US size 0 (2.00 mm) double pointed needles (DPNs), 5”- 6” in length; three US size 1 (2.25 mm) double pointed needles (DPNs), 5” to 6” in length for the cast on. You can also use a 9” circular needle in the same size, or 24” – 40” circulars if you prefer using the magic loop method. Instructions are written for DPNs. You may need to go up needle sizes to obtain gauge.

Notions needed:
Tapestry needle, removable progress keepers (4), stitch marker, scissors, tape measure.

Gauge:
Approximately 34 sts = 4”; 48 rounds = 4”. Gauge was measured in stockinette on US size 0 (2.0 mm) DPNs.
