Fresh Cut Coasters
The name of this colorway is Grass. After I finished one, I couldn’t get the imagine out of my mind of some fresh cut grass. I wanted to name it as such, but then I thought it wouldn’t fit so well if another color was used, so I cut out the grass part. Hehe.
Materials:
- 102 Yards (55 grams) of Lion Brand’s 24/7 Cotton Yarn for a set of 6 (or about 17 Yards (9 grams) per coaster - I used the Grass colorway
- G6/4.25mm Crochet Hook
- Tapestry Needle for Weaving in Ends
Material Notes:
Yarn Alternative: Berroco’s Weekend Yarn, several strands of #10, #5 or #3 Cotton Thread Held Together.
Usually, I list the number of yards needed with the respective weight yarn, as there are always many options, however, this 24/7 Cotton Yarn is listed as a worsted weight (#4) yarn, when it feels more like a lightweight (#3) yarn. While gauge isn’t important for coasters, I will say, I don’t believe you’d be able to achieve the same size with a worsted weight cotton like Lily Sugar n Cream, though you could always adjust the number of rows/stitches.
One skein of 24/7 Cotton will make 10 coasters.
Time Spent:
One coaster took me a little less than 20 minutes to finish, and I worked a set of 6, so about an hour and 45 minutes.
