Friendly Baby Dino Sweater
Meet the Friendly Baby Dino Sweater, a character jumper for babies and children that knits up with far more impact than the stitch count suggests.
Worked in DK yarn with a simple intarsia dinosaur motif on the front, this is a great first intarsia project and a very satisfying knit from start to finish.
Construction is bottom-up, worked flat in pieces with drop shoulders. The dinosaur’s spines, eye patch, and tongue are small separate pieces sewn on at the end. The eyes are Swiss darned on once the knitting is complete. Clear, step-by-step instructions throughout.
This pattern uses the Blank Canvas Baby Sweater as its base. The Blank Canvas is a free base jumper pattern available on my blog at janeburns.co.uk/free-baby-jumper-knitting-pattern-with-motif, designed to take any motif from the growing Blank Canvas Motif Library.
Designed by Jane Burns. I have been creating knitting and crochet patterns for babies and children for 18 years, so you can trust this one is as straightforward to follow as it looks.
