Sweet dreams. The most beautiful of blankets with a nod to Delft design.

This blanket is much easier to knit than it may seem! All of the colorwork is right-side-out, and there are only two colors at any given time. An adventurous beginner could make this as a first colorwork project.

The throw is made up of 29 hexagons worked in the round from the center out. The interior hexagons is placed on waste yarn when the chart is complete. For each hexagon around the edge of the blanket, once the chart is complete, a border is worked along 2 or 3 sides; the live border stitches are grafted to the wrong side to create a hem. The colorwork pattern is given in chart form only.

You will need approximately 2700 yards of the main color (shown as white), and 1500 yards of the contrast color (shown in blue).

Friesland is the speedy little sister of the more elaborate Persian Dreams Throw, which is in more than two colors and Fingering weight.

Note: at the end of the pattern, please ignore where it states to purl the increases on the second round. The increases should be knit on the next round as the pattern instructions indicate.
