Frost & Snow
This pattern was created in collaboration with Rising Tide Fiber Co. using the 2021 Holiday Make-A-Long Yarnvent color sets in the base Calvert DK. Samples shown are the Gingerbread & Christmas Tree color sets. The Mystery MAL is over and now the pattern is available!
I love how winter snow dresses the branches of evergreen trees and comes to life on the frosted eaves of gingerbread houses. This season-inspired shawl is worked over four sections, with layers that build like falling snow.
This pattern has been designed to use 4 colors of DK weight: 1 full skein and 3 half-skeins. If you are using full skeins for all 4 colors, you will only use approximately half of the skeins for CC1-3 if the colors are worked as written.
However, the contrasting colors can be coordinated in a variety of ways. MC will always need a full skein. You can use one skein instead of two for the CC1 & CC2 sections. You can also use up CC3 with additional repeats of Rows 4 & 5 of Section / Clue 4. Choose the skeins and color combos that work best for you so you’re happy with your finished project.
