This shawl incorporates both knitted lace techniques and crocheted joining and edging. When I saw these gorgeous, delicate colors in a unique rayon/linen/cotton blend, I was immediately put in mind of the colors of a late spring frost, and I wanted to create a shawl that included motifs reminiscent of both flowers and ice.

You will need 4 skeins of each color to complete the shawl, more if you want to make it larger. My shawl has a finished size of 28”X56”. You can easily add more repeats of the frost motif to make the piece longer, and you could add more strips to make it wider. This would make a lovely afghan, I think.

I would love to know how your project turns out!

Note: I have a video posted to my blog onbabiesandhobbies.blogspot.com that details how to join the strips in this shawl!
