A cascade of Old Shale lace spills over a garter tube in this unique cowl. After knitting the garter tube, the lace is knit back and forth onto the live stitches at the top.

Skills required
Garter stitch worked in the round (knit one round/purl one round)
Decreasing
Increasing with kfb
Yarn overs

Measurements
The garter tube measures approximately 7” tall and from 29 1/2” around at the base to 21” around at the top after blocking. The lace is about 17” deep in the front.

About your yarn choice Using a superwash, alpaca blend, or a non-wool yarn will give you a drapier/dressier finished project. A more rustic wool will give a project with more body/warmth. You want something that feels nice next to your skin. Any sort of colorway will work fine for this one – variegated, solid, semi-solid, speckled, ombré, you-name-it!
