Fruity Socks - Watermelon
Watermelon socks are a fun, summery project that brings the fresh look of watermelon to your feet! The pattern uses colorwork with a chart, so if you’ve done stranding before, you’ll feel right at home. Just remember to keep your floats loose so the socks don’t pull — change to larger needles if the leg feels tight.
Gauge (4-ply sock yarn):
30 stitches and 40 rows = 10 × 10 cm
Materials needed:
Kremke Edelweiss Alpaca 4-ply (25 g = 100 m / 109 yd)
65% virgin wool, 25% polyamide, 10% alpaca
✱ 1 ball color 43 (bottle green)
✱ 1 ball color 01 (natural white)
✱ 2 balls color 12 (strawberry)
✱ Small scrap quantity color 55 (anthrazit)
✱ 2.5 mm (US 1.5) DPNs (set of 5) or long circular needles (or size needed to obtain correct gauge)
The yarn quantities are sufficient for one pair of socks in sizes EU 37–42. Adjust yarn amounts accordingly for smaller or larger sizes.
