Fundamental Beanie // Basic ribbed beanie
A faster project is probably the best thing to knit for beginner knitters, right? Fundamental Beanie is all about simplicity & versatility. It is “the beanie” that you can wear in all occasions with lots of attitude.
It is worked in the round and started to work bottom towards to the top. Constructed with 1 by 1 ribbing. Crown is shaped with 5 to 1 centered decreases.
Yarn : 1 skein of Kartopu Melange Wool (80% Acryllic, 20% Wool; 186 yds / 170 m per 100gr skein) or any Aran weight yarn (Worsted could work too), Shown in Color M1371
Yardage : 131 yds / 120 m
Sizes : One size
Dimensions : 15” / 38 cm head circumference with 6-9” (15-23 cm) negative ease, 10.5”/ 27 cm height (unfolded brim)
Needles : US 6 / 4 mm, (circular or a set of DPNs)
Notions : Tapestry needle, stitch markers x5, cable needle (optional)
Gauge : 21 sts x 24 rows = 4” / 10 cm in 1x1 ribbing
with US 6 / 4 mm needles, unblocked
