Description
The Fungus Vest Chunky is a feminine oversized drop-shoulder Vest with a neat double-height moss stitch pattern. The vest is knitted from the top down, starting with the ribbed neckline. On the yoke, increases are made on each side of three shoulder stitches on each side. The yoke is first knitted with short rows to shape the neckline, then worked back and forth until the vest reaches the correct width, at which point the shoulder increases stop. The front pieces and back piece are then knitted separately until the armhole depth is correct. From here, the work is joined, and the body is knitted back and forth. Since the vest is knitted top down, it is easy to adjust the length on the body. Stitches are picked up along the armhole for the sleeve edges. The button bands of the vest are knitted on once the vest itself is finished.

Finished Measurements
Bust measurement: approx. 102 (108) 114 (120) 132 (139) 145 (151) 157 cm.
Body length measured from the top center back (CB): approx. 52 (55) 56 (59) 60 (63) 66 (67) 68 cm.

The vest is designed with 10-25 cm of positive ease, but if a tighter or looser fit is desired, you can go up or down a size. The recommendation is to aim for a wide positive ease in the smaller sizes and a narrower positive ease in the larger sizes.

The model in the picture has a bust measurement of approx. 84 cm and is wearing size S with approx. 30 cm of positive ease. A larger size has been chosen for a bigger positive ease.

Materials
400 (400) 400 (500) 500 (600) 600 (600) 600 g Aran Tweed from Isager Yarn (160 m/100 g) or 300 (300) 300 (350) 350 (400) 400 (400) 400 g Heavy Merino from Knitting for Olive held together with 75 (75) 75 (100) 100 (125) 125 (125) 125 g Silk Mohair from Isager Yarn (212 m/25 g) or e.g. Soft Silk Mohair from Knitting for Olive (225 m/25 g) or similar silk mohair quality.

The vest in the picture is knitted with 1 strand of Aran Tweed from Isager Yarn, color Brown and 1 strand of Silk Mohair from Isager Yarn, color 34.

In addition to yarn, you will need 4 stitch markers, 2 of which should be able to open like safety pins.
5-6 buttons. I have used Duffel coat buttons, size 30 mm.

Suggested Needles
The vest is knitted in a double-height moss stitch pattern back and forth on 6 mm circular needles (80 cm) with 1 strand of Aran Tweed Mohair held together with 1 strand of Silk Mohair.

It is recommended to have 2-3 circular needles of 6 mm so that the stitches that need to rest can be placed on one needle while knitting with the other, but you can also use a string or a stitch wire instead.

The ribbed edges on the neckline, armhole, body, and along the button bands are knitted on 4,5 mm circular needles (80 cm).

I recommend the Magic Loop method for knitting the sleeve edges. If you do not use the Magic Loop method, you will also need 1 circular needle of 4,5 mm (40 cm).

Gauge
13/14 sts x 20 rows = 10 x 10 cm on 6 mm needles, knitted back and forth in double-height moss stitch pattern.
