These fuzzy trolls are friendly little creatures, who love nothing more than relaxing in a meadow filled with wildflowers. They are brightly coloured, with horns and long fuzzy-ended tails. This pattern has all the information you will need to make a large or small fuzzy troll, using fun fur/eyelash yarn. There is also a series of videos on my YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/user/LucyRavenscar) that will take you through all the elements of making your troll.

The pattern is quite straightforward and suitable for beginner/intermediate crocheters. The instructions are detailed and easy to follow if you know the basic stitches and techniques used to make amigurumi, with photos and videos to help with the more tricky techniques. They are written in English using US crochet terms, and the list of abbreviations includes the UK alternatives. I will be happy to answer any questions you may have as you are making it.

These Fuzzy Trolls are made with fuzzy (fun fur/eyelash) yarn. These are yarns with a thread base and strands sticking out from this. It is not always clear what weight they are (although the ones I’ve used are DK weight), but in this pattern they are paired with a DK weight yarn to make them easier to work with.

Materials required for each version:
Choose the fuzzy yarn you wish to use, then pick a DK yarn that matches this (yarn A) that you will pair together to create the body. You can use the same colour DK yarn for the face and base, or choose a different, contrasting colour (yarn B). You will also need another colour for the horns (you can use two colours to make them striped, but for amounts I’ll refer to it as yarn C). The amounts listed below are approximate (add yarns A and B together if you are using the same colour). Please note, DK weight yarn is classified as 3:light weight. Using slightly thicker yarn, such as worsted weight, will work as well, although you may need slightly more.

Large Fuzzy Troll:
35g fuzzy yarn.
15g yarn A.
15g yarn B.
10g yarn C.

Small Fuzzy Troll:
25g fuzzy yarn.
10g yarn A.
10g yarn B.
5g yarn C.

You will also need:
12mm or 13.5mm safety eyes (I used 13.5mm eyes for all the Trolls except the blue one, which has 12mm eyes).
Black safety nose, 15mm wide (for large Troll) or 12mm wide (for small Troll), or a small amount of black yarn.
Tapestry needle.
Stuffing.

Finished size:
Large Fuzzy Troll: approximately 15 cm/6” tall.
Small Fuzzy Troll: approximately 12 cm/5” tall.
