Gaia Shawl
The third Goddess shawl is the Gaia Shawl. Gaia is the Goddess of the Earth, as well as having the same name as a good friend and fellow knitter. The Knitter Gaia is a great supporter of Twinset & Purl and I’m so happy to name this pattern after her.

This shawl includes the star stitch detail from the Beks shawl but combined with slipped stitches and small garter columns to orientate the pattern vertically on the shawl. The crescent shawl is created by knitting sideways, ensuring you never have too many stitches on your needle. The design is created with an icord on each edge for a neat finish.

This pattern is knit in one skein of fingering weight yarn. It is a great use for that special skein and would make a great gift knit.

Information
Yarn: 1 x 100g (425m) fingering weight sock yarn.
The shawl sample is knit using high twist sock yarn from The Little Grey Girl in the colour way Amhurst.
Suggested Needles: US 4/3.5mm or needles required to get gauge.
Gauge: 31 sts x 50 rows to 10cm/4” over stitch pattern blocked. Gauge is less important in a shawl, however, if your gauge is looser than specified more yarn will be required.
Measurements: approximately 160 cm/64” wingspan, 17.5 cm/7” depth.
