“Galactica” is a long crescent-shaped shawl knitted in a lovely and easy lace pattern and finished in a filigree crochet edging.
It is a very versatile piece which can be worn in many ways.

The lace used to create “Galactica” is simple yet very pretty and quite interesting to knit making it fun to do.

The two-colour version is worked in a Lunayarns Bedouin; main colour “Enchantment” 520m/130g and “Kissing Gate” 160m/40g.
The size of the shawl can be easily adjusted and it can be done in a single colour yarn as well as in a heavy lace (as shown in Dye for Yarn; colour “Ex-parrot”, yarn requirement 0.75 skein).

The shape is achieved by short-row technique and side increses. Instructions are written. One shoud be familiar with yarn wrapping and basic stitches.

The pattern can easily be executed by novice lace knitters, yet it is interesting enough to keep the more advanced interested.

“Galactica” is a perfect summer accesory, feminine and elegant!
