Galisteo
The Ghost Town Collection
Galisteo is the third of 6 patterns designed for a collection created in collaboration with The Farmer’s Daughter Fibers. Inspired by the harsh beauty of ghost towns of the American West, this collab is really meaningful for us. I am really proud of what we created and so happy to be able to share it with you.
The rest of the Ghost Town collection will be released slowly over the next three months so please stay tuned. A huge thank you to Candice and her Farmer’s Daughter team for this super special collaboration! All photos were taken by Candice English.
You can find yarn kits curated by Candice for all of the patterns in this collection at the Farmer’s Daughter Fibers!
Galisteo is a tunic sweater knit from the bottom up, featuring colorwork at the hem and sleeves, drop sleeves and a funnel neck. The sillhouette is inspired by 1960’s shift dresses with a modern twist. This style can be worn with jeans, leggings or tights for a super cute, chic and flattering look!
Galisteo has a slightly A-line shape and is designed to be worn with 6-8” 15-20.5 cm of positive ease at the bust and 8-10” 20-25 cm of positive ease at the hips. A full schematic is included to help you determine the best size for you.
Make sure to swatch before beginning this pattern- meeting gauge is critical for knitting a garment that fits as intended.
MATERIALS
Yarn:

The Farmer’s Daughter Fibers Oh Dang!

C2: Porch Pumpkin (medium orange)
C3: Eagle Eye (dark orange/brown)
C4: Napi (cream)

Needles:
Note! Needle size is suggested only, you will need to swatch to determine the needle size needed to achieve gauge. You may need a different size needle to maintain the same gauge over stockinette and colorwork- swatching will help you determine this.
Main: US 4/3.5 mm
Ribbing: US 2/2.75 mm
Other Notions:
Stitch markers, stitch holders (or scrap yarn), tapestry needle
Gauge:
26 sts and 32 rounds over 4” 10 cm after blocking with larger needles in both colorwork and stockinette
Swatch both colorwork and stockinette as you may need to change needle sizes to maintain an even gauge. You should always knit your swatch the same way that the pattern is knit—in this case, in the round. Block your swatch as you will your finished garment and allow it to dry fully before measuring.
