The Garter Love Cowl was inspired by two beloved patterns I discovered years ago. The first is the One Row Handspun Scarf by Stephanie Pearl-McPhee, and the other is the Knit-Down, Made-to-Measure Jumper by Sally Melville. I have made several of each and not too long ago, I decided I wanted a cowl, and because I absolutely love reversible fabric for cowls and scarves, this is what came off my needles! The best part is, thanks again to Sally Melville, the easy seaming technique creates a detail that looks like the slip stitch columns. The seam does create a slight difference on the inside of the cowl, but it’s barely noticeable.

You can very easily lengthen or shorten depending on your preference, And, the icing on the cake is that the gauge doesn’t even have to be exact! Just make the fabric you enjoy and want to wear. Yardage estimates are generous for each length and any adjustments you want to make.

This is a fun little grab and go project because, once you get the hang of the pattern, you don’t have to pay close attention while knitting! And, it makes a perfect layering piece!

I hope you enjoy it - please DM me and let me know!!
