Gazley Circle
The Gazley Circle hat plays with color and cabled slipped stitches to create a fun, textured fabric. The hat uses 2 colors: a base color for the initial ribbing and the hat canvas, and a second color for the traveling slipped stitches. This pattern gives you an opportunity to pull out that beautiful complex-colored skein of yarn that you didn’t know what to use for and pair it with a solid base to display its full glory. Or you could use a pair of contrasting solids or tonals. The color choices a knitter makes will give a range of characters to this hat.
This unisex pattern comes in a range of sizes to fit newborn to adult, and the stitch pattern is fairly stretchy. If you have never worked with slipped stitches before, this is a fun, easy project to start with. There are helpful written and video tutorials provided along with the pattern. The color play in the hat will keep you interested, and the slipped-stitch pattern is engaging without being tiring. The hat is knit in DK weight yarn, which means your project flies off the needles while producing a warm hat.
