Gentian Mitts feature a split cuff, cables and wrapped (smocking) stitches. The cuff is knit flat and then joined in the round to knit the rest of the mitt. They would make an excellent introduction to cable and wrapped stitches.

The grey sample of these mitts are knit in ULA+LIA DK Mongolian Cashmere.

The blue sample are knit in A Chick That Knitz Merino DK.

The cable/smocking pattern is both written and charted.
