Needles: 4.5 mm/US7 for your preferred method of working body and sleeve circumferences in the round or needle size to obtain gauge

Blocked gauge: 15 sts and 20 rows = 10 cm 4” in Stockinette with 4.5 mm/US7 needles (or needle size to obtain gauge)

Notions: stitch markers, tapestry needle, stitch holder/waste yarn

Construction notes: The Cassata sweater is a round yoke pullover, knit seamlessly top-down. First the neck is cast on and formed using Short Rows. After completing the yoke, the wide puffy sleeves are separated from the body, gathered at the wrist, and finished with a slim I-cord. The body is worked with an A-line. All edges are finished with slim I-cord bind-offs and its ends are tied into bows at neckline and sleeves.

Inspiration: This pattern is inspired by Georgia O’Keeffe and her quiet strength as an artist.
Georgia O’Keeffe (1887–1986) was a pioneer of modern American art. In a world that often tried to define her work for her, she remained deeply rooted in her own way of seeing. She painted flowers larger than life, desert landscapes stripped to their essence, bones and skies reduced to shape and color. Her art feels soft at first glance — flowing lines, rounded forms, gentle transitions — yet beneath that softness lies clarity and conviction.
She had the courage to trust her perspective.
She once said:
“To create one’s world in any of the arts takes courage.”
