Getaway. The word makes me think of vacation – taking it easy, pampering yourself, maybe even breaking a rule or two. These socks are a getaway from the usual: simply designed to show off hand dyed luxury sock yarns, they are versatile and look great in both semisolid and variegated yarns. Using needles slightly larger than usual for socks in fingering weight yarn is generally not recommended. However, these socks are more for “down time” than for more rugged activities. The knitting is quick, and the lighter-gauge fabric will keep your feet warm without feeling heavy. These socks will feel like a welcome treat to your feet when you slip them on at the end of an active day, whether you’re relaxing at the resort or by a campfire. Easy star toe shaping means you can just draw up the last few stitches tightly and fasten off; no grafting needed.

Viva vacation!
