Getting Cozy with Cashmere Tam
A classic design in a classic yarn! Cashmere yarn makes this tam a bit luxurious, a bit cozy … a wonderful combination of classic design with the luxury of cashmere … gorgeous! A wonderful foray into the world of tam design, fair isle stranded knitting and color play.
You will need 4 colors:
mc = 165 yards (shown in Taupe)
cc1 = 30 yards (shown in buttercup)
cc2 = 30 yards (shown in golden)
cc3 = 25 yards (shown in chestnut)
Sample used Spring Gate Farm’s heavy-fingering cashmere.
NOTE: make sure you knit the ribbing tight (go down to a 1 if you need to) to ensure that the rib has some elasticity -- cashmere is NOT as elastic as wool.
