Gilded is a 40-by-40-inch baby blanket that is sure to be a family heirloom. Knit in the round and then steeked before adding either a fleece backing or an optional border, Gilded makes use of eleven different charted colorwork patterns, randomly lain out for a quilt-like effect. Two-thirds of the blanket consist of just two of these patterns, making quicker work of memorization and this long knit go just a little bit faster.

If you haven’t done steeks before, please don’t let them intimidate you! This is a great beginner steek project, since the steeks are straight and the finished size is not crucial.
