Gillett Hat
This hat is inspired by a sweater that was inspired by my friend Janet. That sweater is called Gillett. This hat incorporates the same cables and fisherman’s rib as the sweater, and the stitch patterns come together in a most delightful and unexpected way.
The fisherman’s rib has a shorter row gauge than the rest of the hat. After crown shaping is complete and the hat is finished off, the cabled portion crawls up and over to the other side just a bit, creating a wonder of geometry that can only happen in knitting.
This hat is once again shown in Corrie Confetti by La Bien Aimee, this time in the limited colorway RGO, which stands for GG Loves Orange. If you’re not already a GG fan (or a La Bien fan, for that matter), go right now and follow them on Instagram. They’re good people :)
