My mother, intrepid new knitter, has been busy knitting up scarves as gifts for our family in Taiwan. This is her latest creation — big needles, big cushy yarn — a gorgeous warm scarf.

An easy rib variation makes a lush and lofty scarf in beautiful merino and silk. Knit up quick on larger needles, this makes for a very simple and elegant one-skein gift. (One skein makes a short-ish scarf of 42”. Simply add another skein to add more length to your scarf if desired.)
