Gingerbread Biscuits
These crocheted Gingerbread ‘Bikkies’ were designed to look as much as possible like the edible kind, but last longer!
Make a set of five for your tree, make as gifts or wrapping toppers or make a gingerbread garland that you’ll use for years to come.
Each design is made in sets of two and sewn together to hide stitching and make it more real.
Ideas for the icing (stitching) are given via my IGTV
@littlegoldennook but you are free to use your own ideas also.
I’ve used both 8ply/dk/light weight yarn and Aran/10ply/medium weight, both work well but the 10ply biscuits are larger and heavier. I do prefer the lighter yarn if you can find it in cotton. Another suggestion is Yarn and Colors Must-Have in Satay.
My preferred yarn:
Stylecraft Classique Cotton DK in Toffee
Or try Bendigo Woollen Mills cotton 8 ply in Chestnut
For the icing you can use 4ply/fingering yarn OR 8ply/dk yarn in white or off white. Photos of each included. In the end I prefer the 4ply option for the icing.
