Gingham Dress, Oh Yes!
If ants are such busy workers, how come they find time to go to all the picnics?
- Marie Dressler
I am taking this opportunity to revisit this pattern with all I have learned since its conception. I will keep it for sale and update as soon as I can. (so far, no major changes, message posted 28 March).
This pattern was tech edited and test knit by the magazine, but please let me know if you find any errors.
Wow your friends, as you work on this large project with easy to remember patterning – knit anywhere and everywhere. And once you have finished, you may a picnic any time of year!
Formerly known as Giselle Gingham Dress from I Like Knitting magazine - Gingham Dress, Oh Yes! is now available for individual purchase.
This is a pattern for a dress worked from the top down and in the round using the stranded knitting technique. The neck has a Henley style button band and worked with a steek.
There are charts for the Main Gingham motif, waist and yoke shaping, and Raglan shaping. The Raglan shaping is charted per size, though you may make any changes you need for best fit.
The sleeve cuffs and bottom edge are worked with a folded hem for a clean tailored edge.
A full petticoat is recommended to give the A-line skirt a bit of flare.
