Gingham Pumpkins
Pumpkins are worked flat, then seamed and shaped into plump pumpkin stuffies. Tapestry crochet stitches worked into the back loops allow for easy colour changes and a raised ridge to form vertical lines. The stem is worked in the round, separately, and sewed on. Both stem and pumpkin are stuffed -- I’ve used toy filling for the pumpkin and yarn ends to stuff the stems.
There’s a bit of personal touches required when shaping the pumpkins. Feel free to use a little artistic license when making your collection of organically shaped pumpkins.
