Inspired by the mesmerizing Moorish architecture, the Giralda Hat is a knitting pattern that effortlessly captures the essence of elegance and intricate design. This slightly slouchy hat features cable stitches reminiscent of the geometric patterns adorning structures like the Giralda tower in Spain. This hat is a fashionable homage to cultural richness and architectural splendor.

This is a new version of the design, first published in 2015.

Finished measurements
17”/42.5 cm brim circumference.
9”/22.5 cm height from the base of ribbing to top-center of the crown.
Measurements were taken after blocking.
Fits average adult head sizes 20-22”/51-56 cm.

Yarn
Approximately 160 yds/146 m of worsted weight yarn.
2 balls of Valley Yarns Superwash (100% Merino Wool, 97 yds/89 m in 50 gr); #200 Seel Grey

Needles
Size US 5/3.75 mm and size US 8/5 mm circular needles 16”/40 cm long, or size to obtain gauge.
One set of double-pointed needles size US 8/5 mm.

Additional tools
Stitch markers, cable needle, tapestry needle

Gauge
22 stitches and 28 rounds = 4”/10 cm on size US 8/5 mm needles in charted pattern after blocking.
